As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The file with the article is made in doc or docx format. Articles in other formats are accepted only with prior consent. We recommend using OpenOffice, LibreOffice or Microsoft Word to write the article.
  • The list of references is made in the style of the American Medical Association citation style. A detailed description can be found in http://www.bcit.ca/files/library/pdf/bcit-ama_citation_guide.pdf. Where possible, you should provide a link to the article in DOI index format (starting with https://doi.org/) or PubMed ID (starting with https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/).
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The article should contain a structured annotation. For research articles, it must include relevance, methods, results, discussion and conclusion.
